Travel Coffee Mugs

Good travel coffee mugs are a must while traveling. There are many types of travel coffee mugs available and choosing one can be a difficult choice. So below are a few considerations to take note of before buying.

First there are two types of travel coffee mugs. One type is made of stainless steel while the other is plastic. Stainless steel mugs are more expensive but they are a better value for your purchase.

Stainless steel travel coffee mugs are much better in keeping the coffee hot or cold longer. If you buy stainless steel travel coffee mugs with insulation, they can keep the coffee hot or cold even longer.

Further more stainless steel mugs do not break as compared to plastics ones which break easily. In term of easy to clean, stainless steel mugs are easier to clean compared to plastic ones. Also plastic mugs tend to absorb the coffee in the long run and this will affect its performance and the taste of the coffee too. Stainless steel mugs do not have this problem.

Another thing to consider when purchasing travel coffee mugs is that they fit into the cars cup holders. Other wise get mugs with large and non-slip base for stability. However it is better to get mugs that fit into the cars cup holders so that there is no worry about holding them.

Next consider the types of lids of the travel coffee mugs. Screws on lids are much better than snaps on because snap on lids may come off if the mugs are accidentally dropped.

Also consider what types of covers required over the beverage hole during drinking. There are flap designs as well as slide ones that either stays open or closed. There are also special designs where the beverage hole opens when a spring loaded lever is pressed and closed when the lever is released.

Travel coffee mugs come in different sizes. Hence depending on the users preferences, small volume mugs as well as larger volume mugs are available.

Finally taking proper care of travel coffee mugs is important. When cleaning the mugs, hand wash them instead of using the dishwashers. This is because soap residue may be left in and this may affect the coffee taste. Thus be sure to give the mugs extra good rinse when hand washing so that the rich flavors of the coffee is maintained.

Should the travel coffee mugs are to be left inside cars, make sure to store them away from direct sunlight. That way the direct heat of the sun does not damage the fragile rubber seals of the mugs.
