When buying a new house most people want to change the bathroom or kitchen.

The rest of the house could be fine but if the bathroom designs are ugly or need updating then this is usually something that the new owner cannot live with and must change straight away.

Firstly you must decide wehther you want a bathroom or shower room or a combination of the two. If space permits you could have these as separate units and the room could also incorporate his and hers wash basins and a toilet and bidet.

Modern bathroom designs are all about wet rooms. This is a fully tiled room which incorpoates a shower but the shower does not have an enclosed cubicle or shower tray. There is a central drain and a floor which slopes to the drain and the shower is separated by a low wall which can be curved.

The whole design is simple and perfect for young children and teenagers.

If more traditional bathroom designs are required then it would be a good idea to take the measurements of the room and ask a specialist company to draw up some plans. Often these plans are free and if you can get free quotes from three or four companies then you will be well on your way to choosing the bathroom most perfectly suited to your requirements.

The fixtures and fittings required for your chosen bathroom designs will help create the look you like. Brass fttings create a luxurious look and chrome fittings create a more functional look.

Bathroom designs have also been both tradiitonal and highly modern. People tend to break away when choosing bathroom designs and go for something wacky and out of the ordinary.
